The Clinical Research Unit at MHMC nursing staff is trained
to make complex research observations and perform precise collections of
specimens, while providing exemplary patient care from infancy through geriatric
patients.
The registered nurses
at the CRU at MHMC practice as primary caregivers. He or she is
responsible for communicating with the investigator and his or her research
team, maintaining physician orders, nursing protocol, flowsheets and
in-servicing staff. The primary nurse is responsible for quality assurance and
monitoring compliance with informed consent, and collects and reviews data on
any deviation from protocol specifications.
