If you have an Investigator-initiatied study,
when you submit an Application in the MHS eIRB system you must check “Yes”,
you plan to utilize the resources of the CRU and attach a copy of
the
CRU
application to your eIRB
submission. Your eIRB application will automatically be submitted to
the CRU Administrative Coordinator.
The application and protocol are then reviewed by the CRU
Scientific Review Committee (SRC), as required by the NIH, to insure that all
studies are of the highest scientific quality and CTSA-CRU resources are
allocated accordingly.
All projects must be fully IRB approved prior to subjects being seen on
the CRU . IRB approval does not authorize use of the CRU resources.
CRU Review is a blocking review for the MHMC IRB.
The IRB does not review protocol applications that are rquesting to use the CRU
until after the CRU has reviewed and approved it.
When the PI of a
protocol is not a staff member of MHS or a faculty member of Case, a responsible
co-investigator or sponsor who is a member of the Case faculty or professional
staff at MHS must be identified.
If you have any further questions please call the CTSA-CRU at
216-778-3130.
