MetroHealth’s Infectious Diseases Division is located at 2500 MetroHealth Drive. Services are also provided at community-based health care facilities throughout Cuyahoga County.

Infectious Disease Travel Clinic

MetroHealth'sTravel Clinic offers pre-travel medical consultations for individuals, families or groups who will be visiting countries throughout the world.MetroHealth'sTravel Clinic offers pre-travel medical consultations for individuals, families or groups who will be visiting countries throughout the world. Peter M. Wiest, MD, Director of the Travel Clinic, is board-certified in Infectious Diseases and certified by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in Tropical Medicine.

All immunizations required or recommended for travel are available and include:

  • Yellow fever
  • Meningococcal
  • Typhoid
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Rabies
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Polio
  • And others

Recommendations for the prevention of malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases as well as traveler’s diarrhea are provided. Medical services for returning travelers are available 24 hours per day.
