Neonatology About Neonatology

The arrival of a new baby is a joyous time for families. However, we realize that learning your newborn will require special care can be frightening.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MetroHealth Medical Center is a Level III unit — the most distinguished of its kind. As such, we offer a proven record of excellence in caring for the most critically ill infants.

We believe that treating your baby is truly a team effort. Our state-of-the-art NICU is staffed by expert physicians, registered nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, nutrition specialists, and other healthcare professionals who are dedicated to improving the health your baby.

Parents are also an important part of the team. We look forward to working with you during your infant’s stay and encourage you to visit frequently. When you can’t be here, feel free to call and check on your baby’s condition.

It is our goal to make what is often an anxious situation as reassuring as possible for you and your family.
