General Surgery
The Department of Surgery's General Surgery Division deals with conditions of multiple organ systems including:

Skin and Soft Tissues
Head, Neck and Breast
Intra-abdominal viscera including: - Gallbladder - Pancreas - Biliary tract - Spleen
Gastro-intestinal Tract including: - Esophagus - Stomach - Small and large intestine - Anorectum
Bariatric Surgery
Endocrine Surgery including: - Adrenal - Pancreas - Parathyroid - Thyroid
Oncologic Surgery
General surgeons are involved in the diagnosis and management of diseases which affect these organ systems. All of our surgeons have completed at least five years of residency training in general surgery, are board certified or board eligible in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and hold academic appointments at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Many of them have also completed additional fellowship training in specific subspecialty areas of general surgery such as: bariatrics, breast, colorectal, complex gastrointestinal, endoscopy and laparoscopy, endocrine, head and neck, and this subspecialty is the focus of their practice.
