The MetroHealth System Names Melissa Kline Associate Chief Nursing Officer
(Cleveland, Ohio) – The MetroHealth System is pleased to announce the promotion of Melissa Kline, RN, MSN, NEA-BC to Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO.)
Her ACNO role includes the management of the nursing business office, nursing operations, patient care staffing, nursing orientation and education as well as the coordination of Magnet designation requirements. She will also function as acting CNO in the absence of the SVP/CNO for key administrative meetings and decision-making related to nursing.

"This position is a recognition of Melissa's accomplishments in nursing leadership and it is a positive step for our nursing enterprise. Melissa’s drive to improve nursing operations and as a nursing leader positioned her for this promotion and I am looking forward to her continued success at MetroHealth."
Kline has been an employee with MetroHealth since 1998 and held positions as clinical nurse, assistant nurse manager, nurse manager, and most recently, Director of Nursing Operations and Professional Development.
She earned a BSN from The University of Akron and an MSN from Walden University. Her accomplishments include leading research examining the motivations and barriers for nurses returning to school, achieving board certification as a Nurse Executive-Advanced from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, completion of the Healthcare Advisory Board Leadership Fellowship Academy and completion of the MetroHealth Leadership Development Program at CWRU Weatherhead School of Management.
Kline is also active in the community as a member of the Board of Directors for Lifebanc and her participation in the Northeast Ohio Nursing Initiative. She was selected to attend Executive Level Skills in Healthcare Finance, a program jointly offered by HFMA and AONE in June 2014. Melissa will be pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice later this year at Chamberlain College of Nursing.
