Dr. Robert Needlman Gives Some "Old-Fashioned" Parenting Tips
Dr. Robert Needlman was featured Wednesday in Next Avenue discussing things the "older generation" of parents got right when they raised their kids.
Dr. Needlman contributed two of the article's six tips.
First off, Dr. Needlman, who was the revising editor of the eighth and ninth editions of Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care
, reaffirms Dr. Spock's emphasis on getting children outside.
"Outdoor play is healthy for kids, whether it's cold or not," Dr. Needlman told writer Allison Pennell.
He also cited the importance for kids of "unstructured play" and learning that they can't always get what they want.
