Dr. Hergenroeder, Elizabeth Hogan Featured in Crain's Cleveland
MetroHealth Dr. Paul Hergenroeder
and genetic counselor Elizabeth Hogan were
featured in a Crain's Cleveland's article entitled, "Doctors take personal approach with disease."
Dr. Hergenroeder, a hermatology and oncology physician, said that the ability to find genetic markers, which predict likelihood, for cancers is "exploding." He also noted that many women have avoided chemotherapy due to increasingly sophisticated tests that show the likelihood of a tumor coming back.
Hogan noted a sharp increase in the number of patients undergoing genetic screening and counseling.
