MetroHealth Center for Sleep Medicine
The MetroHealth Center for Sleep Medicine helps sleep-troubled adults and children get the rest they crave.  Our specially trained physicians and technicians use state-of-the-art methods and technology, including a fully equipped sleep laboratory; to diagnose and treat common and not so common sleep disorders.  In most cases, a simple course of treatment - often without medication - brings relief from the troubling nighttime and daytime symptoms associated with sleep disorders.  If lack of sleep or poor quality of sleep is reducing your quality of life, call us.  Chances are you'll rest a whole lot easier.

Sleep Center verses Sleep Laboratory
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) recognizes a very definitive distinction between a sleep laboratory and accredited Sleep Disorders Centers , such as MetroHealth Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center.

What is the difference?
By the AASM’s definition, “An accredited sleep disorders center is a comprehensive or full-service sleep disorders program that must be prepared to provide adequate evaluation of patients with a variety of sleep disorders T he AASM accredits two different types of sleep disorders facilities; sleep disorders centers and laboratories for sleep-related breathing disorders. A Sleep Disorders Center is a medical facility providing clinical diagnostic services and treatment for patients who present with symptoms or features that suggest the presence of any sleep disorder.  In contrast, a laboratory for sleep-related breathing disorders provides diagnostic and treatment services limited to sleep-related breathing disorders, such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome.”  To summarize, Obstructive Sleep Apnea is not the only sleep disorder.  Allow us to diagnose and, if needed, treat your sleep disorder.
