Categorical Three-Year Program
First Year (PGY-I) Residents focus on patient management skills in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings.
Second Year (PGY-II) Residents gain additional experience in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care units and subspecialty or research electives.
Third Year (PGY-III) Supervisory rotations occur primarily in the third year, enabling the senior resident to manage the service with greater autonomy and provide the highest quality teaching and supervision for students and interns. Additional third-year rotations include: the medical consultation service, ambulatory clinic and additional subspecialty or research electives.
